Our goal is to create highly personal spaces that are driven by our clients’ desires and informed by our core design values: interiors that enhance the act of living, celebrate beauty and function, and are authentic to both people and place. Understated, enduring, enriching design.

Robert Bailey, RID
Principal
Since founding his award-winning boutique firm in 2005, Robert has built a brand of highly personal residential design, beginning each project with a meticulously detailed plan for every elevation—from floors to ceilings to intricate 2D and 3D drawings of millwork, lighting plans and custom furniture.
His process is an organic collaboration between the client and the team’s design professionals. “I love being presented with a unique set of programmed desires,” says Robert. “We want each of our projects to have their own identity; the final design should be a careful measuring of who they are, what they want and the everyday life we envision for them.”
The firm’s unifying ethos is disciplined, pragmatic and conservative, yet joyful. “We are fundamentalists who love what design can do. It has to be beautiful, and that beauty is born out of understanding and meaning.”
It’s an academic approach formed throughout his 40-year career as an interior designer in both commercial and residential design. A history that has cemented his belief in the value of design and how, through its practice, there is a solution to every problem.
Principal Robert Bailey is NCIDQ certified, a Registered Interior Designer, and member of the Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia (IDIBC) and Interior Designers of Canada (IDC).
Massimo Lanaro
Interior Designer
Starting in the fashion and textile industries back in his native Italy 30-plus years ago, Massimo imports a strong environmental sense to design, along with a progressive European point of view. “I lived most of my life in Italy, where design is part of the culture,” he says. This inspired Massimo’s move to Vancouver, where he dedicated the past 13 years to working in architecture and interior design. “That experience gave me the understanding of volume, orientation and materiality, but it’s been through Robert Bailey’s mentoring that I’ve come to understand what interior design really means,” says Massimo. “My concept of design is focused on contemporary functionality, designing calm and comfortable spaces inspired by the natural environment, with the mission to create authentic interiors tailored to our clients’ style, budget and time frame.”
