This downtown Vancouver pied-a-terre needed to function as both a home away from home and as an elevated entertaining space for a busy travelling couple. To translate a refined level of European design into a blank canvas, we lined one full wall in a single piece of custom-designed millwork—a showstopper with antique brass cabinet doors and a charcoal cerused-oak top. We created two conversation areas, anchored with custom rugs, to amplify the homeowners’ opportunities to gather over fine wine.
Design-forward furnishings (many being new classics) are delightfully plush and inviting, and complement the understated artwork and accessories. It’s a chic and inviting cosmopolitan space that works as well for quiet contemplation as it does for a pre-supper cocktail party.
