We transformed this formerly classic 1980s Whistler home—complete with knotty pine floors and snowshoes on the walls—into a New York art dealer’s modern mountain sanctuary that would embrace her sophisticated tastes. White oak floors formed the new base for the 1,500-square-foot townhouse’s clean, bright interior.
Warm wood features and Scandinavian-designed furnishings evoke that European chalet feel, yet mixed with the minimalist design and the client’s abstract art pieces, the overall look is refreshing, and perhaps a bit unexpected, but decidedly alive with artistic and alpine inspiration. It’s an honest reflection of the owner’s desires as they meet the Whistler landscape.
